Moroccan wedding blankets (Handira) are a marriage celebration tradition
that originated with the Berber tribes, they are meticulously handwoven out of sheep's wool,
cotton and linen in anticipation of a wedding by the bride's female relatives.
These ornate pieces hold significant cultural meaning for the tribes.
Throws, poufs and pillows of this style have recently become an international trend.
Our decorative Floor pillow cushions take original, historic Handira and up-cycle them
into easy to fill cases
embellished with Cowhide, brown thread and more sequins!
Your floor pillow will arrive unstuffed, and can be filled through the zippered canvas back.
Due to the vintage & handmade nature of this item, slight character-enhancing
imperfections and irregularities, rust on the sequins and fabric may be noticeable upon close inspection
which shouldn't be viewed as defects but instead considered to add
to its beauty and authenticity and attest to its value as a treasured tribal item!
PS: The canvas back shows some stain from rust and storage,
although it won't show on the pouf since
it's on the back of it
