Copper Chafer Trolley

Description

This offering is for a 42" oval copper chafer trolley. It was originally purchased new by a Dallas hotel chain intending to provide a similar type of tableside service as Lawry's, the well known fine dining chain that got its start in Beverly Hills during the 40's. I bought it as part of a much larger purchase of FF&E assets which were surplus to the hotel's ongoing operations.
According to the Food & Beverage Director, after only one year of occasional use, the decision was made to discontinue this type of service; and so the trolley was removed to storage.
I have owned this trolley for about 15 years now, always thinking I would one day put it to good use. However much I wanted to one day see it put into service, I finally realized this trolley really deserved a new home.

I cleaned the copper lid for the purpose of this ad; but I did not clean the brass accent band which encircles the outside below the lid. I also applied wood soap to the legs. Before and after, front and back pictures are included.
Constructed of heavy gauge stainless steel and a thick overlay of copper, this food trolley is designed to last. Once cleaned, detailed, and shined, it should be fairly easy to maintain its beauty.
A trolley makes for a wonderful presentation of hot OR cold foods. For cold foods or desserts, the oval top can be fitted with either marble or granite, then kept chilled below it using ice water and/or frozen gel packs.
Inexpensive wireless, battery operated lights with magnets can be attached to the underside of the lid.
It can also serve as a carving station for roasts - just as these trolleys are used tableside by Lawry's Prime Rib.

Do notice I have one other trolley listed for sale here on eBay. It is also oval and 42" like this one, but features a heated under storage cabinet for easier replenishing.
As it is fitted with three (3) copper accent bands and a retractable wooden cutting board, it can be considered an ideal complement for a fine dining application in a professional setting.
