The Contour Tailclip set is an invaluable accessory either for your parts bag or as an as-needed product. Skinning has taken off in popularity over the past few years, and the quality of product has really increased as well. That doesn't mean that this stuff is infallible, though, it's subject to cold weather, high-pressure situations, and yes, some misuse on the part of the user. As a result, it's important to have some backups of some of the more finicky parts of the skin setup. The Contour Tail Clip Set is not only a good spare part to have, but also could be used in conjunction with the junior skin set that doesn't have a tail clip. Either way, you're sure to have the peace of mind that having a spare set includes. Hopefully this stuff doesn't break on the hill, and that you're somewhere light and warm when you're changing the tail clip set, but if not, that's okay too. If your skin loses its tail clip, you can lose your skin due to roll up or roll back, depending on your view point. At any rate, it's imperative that the tail of the skin is properly fitted and fixed to the tail of the ski for true contact through the length of the ski. If not, you're losing purchase and efficiency with each and every stride, and that's not good for anybody. *Returned skis that have been mounted are subject to a 20-25% restocking fee. If you are unsure about keeping the skis or your boot size we recommend shipping the skis & bindings unmounted.
Where to Find Your Boot Sole Length (BSL)
The boot sole length is not your foot size or boot size; it is a millimeter measurement of the boot shell. Ski boot manufacturers emboss this measurement into the plastic shell at the heel or under the arch. The number will fall between 255-365mm for an adult ski boot. This number will be greater than your mondo boot size (
eg.
a mondo size of 23.5 commonly has a BSL of 275mm). Please include the “mm” unit to indicate that the number given is the BSL and not the mondo size. Without this precise manufacturer's measurement, we cannot mount your skis.
If we are given incorrect mounting info, the buyer will be responsible for any remounting or restocking fees.
Binding Check:
Buyer is responsible
for taking Ski + Binding to a certified ski shop before use to make final adjustments and do a safety release check.  We do NOT set DIN levels.
Product Availability
Our eBay store shares much of its inventory with our family-owned retail store in Stowe, VT and sometimes our inventory is not accurate due to purchases made locally. If you purchase something that is sold out, we will try our best to find you a suitable replacement item. Any payment for an item that is not available will be refunded immediately. Keep in mind that weekend purchases are not finalized until Monday due to our eBay Department schedule.
