Sénoufo chameleon in aluminum. Old piece over 40 years old.
Among the Sénoufo, the statuettes are very diverse in form and function, but almost all play a role in the initiation of Poro.
These are maternity effigies that represent Kaatleyoo, the mythical ancestor or the pestle statues of the Poro, the Déblé which sometimes reach monumental dimensions and which, preciously preserved in the enclosure of the Sacred Wood of Poro, the Sinzanga or Sézing, protect insiders who are still vulnerable.
