Old wooden Baoulé passport
, from western Côte d'Ivoire.
The "Goli Glin" constitutes a particularly mystical mask, since it cannot be seen by women while dancing. Accompanied by musicians, the sound of the accompanying bells announces his arrival. The women then take refuge in their homes.
In the form of a passport, it constitutes a protective amulet.
