    Description

I am downsizing and must sell all of my 12” Shirley Temple doll outfits.  This week and the weeks to come, I will be listing Shirley outfits produced from 1960-1961—many are complete or near complete and I will be listing them in order by Ideal’s stock number.
To find them, keep checking my Seller’s List:
    https://www.ebay.com/sch/antiq45/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_ipg=&_from=
If you don’t want to wait, you can request that I go ahead and list a certain outfit that you are interested in earlier than its stock # would indicate.  It may take me a week or two to set up and post the requested listing.
    I do combine shipping and
if you win more than one auction
, I can ship them in the same package—
so check with me before you pay
and I will send your invoice with an adjusted shipping cost.  If you give me enough time, you can also contact me with your zip code and the items you are interested in and I can send you a quote for shipping all in one package.
    5 day auction—
This cotton and felt dress was one of the outfits made by the Ideal Company for their 1958-1962, 12” Shirley Temple doll.  It is outfit  #9722, labeled ‘Heidi’ on page 162 of Tonya Bervaldi-Camaratta’s reference book,
The Complete guide to Shirley Temple Dolls and Collectibles
    in
    2006.
She states that the dress was produced in 1960 is the modified version of #9547 from 1959 and includes a matching headband and a signature purse—which makes me believe that the set in this auction is complete.  Other reference books that this outfit can be found in are:
    Collector’s Guide to Ideal Dolls—Identification & Values
    by Judith Izen in 1999;
    Collector’s Guide to Ideal Dolls—Identification & Values
by Judith Izen in 1994 and
    Shirley Temple Dolls and Fashions
by Edward R. Pardella in 1992.
This Heidi dress and matching hat are in Excellent condition (except for 2 issues listed later in this paragraph).  Its tag is still clean and crisp with very little fraying on the raw edge.  The fabric in the dress is also still clean and crisp and there are no stains, holes or tears—overall it looks as if it hasn’t been played with.  That makes the 2 issues mentioned above confusing:  - The stitching on the 2 square metal snaps is in varying condition—one ½ is completely off and snapped to the other half and 2 halves have only a few stitches remaining.  – The stitches in about ¼” of the waist seam in the back have come undone and the skirt will need to be re-gathered in that place and re-sewn.  NOTE:  The ‘white’ fabric in the bodice and apron is more the color of creamy muslin—it has not yellowed with age. One last thing to mention about the dress is that the elastic in the puffed sleeves has probably dried out due to age.  I don’t want to try to stretch it to find out.  If it has, you can thread a large-eyed needle with elastic thread, baste it through the original elastic, pull it tighter, then tie a knot on the inside.
The only evidence that I see that shows the hat has been used (perhaps only for display) is that its satin ties need to be ironed.
    Other than being
    dirty
, the signature purse is in very nice condition with no tears or missing paint in the ‘Shirley Temple’ graphics.
    ***
This outfit has been in my collection for many years and the items
    may
have come to me through several ebay auctions in order to put the set together.  I have a smoke free home and I do not smell unpleasant odors on them, but I cannot guarantee what environment they came from.  In my opinion, this collectible set will make a nice addition to your collection—
it did in mine for many years!
