#12b—VINTAGE—1960 REBECCA OF SUNNYBROOK FARM/Clothes to 12” Ideal Shirley Temple

I am downsizing and must sell all of my 12” Shirley Temple doll outfits.  This week and the weeks to come, I will be listing Shirley outfits produced from 1960-1961—many are complete or near complete and I will be listing them in order by Ideal’s stock number.

5 day auction—
This overalls outfit was one of the outfits made by the Ideal Company for their 1958-1962, 12” Shirley Temple doll.  It is outfit #9719, labeled ‘Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm’ on page 161 of Tonya Bervaldi-Camaratta’s reference book,
The Complete guide to Shirley Temple Dolls and Collectibles
in
2006.
She states that the outfit was produced in 1960 and stated that it was an updated version of #9550 from1959.  Other reference books that this outfit can be found in are:

by Judith Izen in 1994.
This set is in lightly played-with condition, yet does have a few issues due to the passage of time—61 years!  First, I want to point out that the tag inside the shirt is still clean and crisp with very little fraying on the uncut edge and the gripper snap on the shirt is still securely attached
--I see No problems with it.  The overalls do not have stains, tears or holes.  They do smell a little dusty, however, and the elastic in the back ‘crackled’ when I tried to stretch it a little (no elasticity!).  The straw hat has No breaks in the straw and there are no loose stitches.  There is a brown spot on the outside and inside of both sides of the crown of the hat.  I believe that this set is most likely complete.
This outfit will be shipped in a box so the straw hat will not be crushed!

This overalls set has been in my collection for many years.  I have a smoke free home and I do not smell unpleasant odors on it though it does smell a little dusty.  I cannot guarantee what environment it came from.  In my opinion, this collectable outfit will make a nice addition to your collection—
it did in mine for many years!
