Geologists say that the best estimate is that the mine will be exhausted within the next 15-20 years, and it is believed extremely unlikely that significant deposits exist elsewhere on earth. Since its introduction in 1969, tanzanite has become one of the the most popular gemstones in the world after diamond, ruby, sapphire, and emerald.
